King Joseph
Violin - Guarneri del Gesù, 1737
“The King Joseph was one of my favorite instruments. Frankly, I preferred it to any other del Gesù I’ve owned … and I’ve owned some humdingers. Maybe this isn’t too surprising: the King Joseph is the most Strad-like of all the del Gesùs I’ve played … and I love Strads. The violin has a broad tonal palette that expands as you become more comfortable playing the instrument. It is capable of the most subtle variations of tonal color.”
